Dennis James's

Dennis James was born in Germany on May 31st, 1969. Dennis grew up in Germany, and moved to Thailand in 1990 after visiting a friend who lived and ran a business from there.

Dennis James began training in 1992 in the sweltering humidity of Thailand, and observed some impressive results very early on. Dennis competed in his first competition just 18 months later and grabbed himself 4th place in the NABBA Mr Universe for the medium-tall division.

Dennis James is now the proud owner the Universe gym in Pattaya, Thailand and does most of his training there. Unlike many bodybuilders, Dennis trains with a team of supporters including a different trainer for his morning and afternoon workouts, and a weights boy to change the big-mans weights for each excercise.

The 1995 NABBA Mr Universe saw Dennis James take his first win in competition and this win helped his decision to become an IFBB Pro.

Dennis headed to California in 1997 to get involved with the pro's and found himself in contact with Jon Lindsay, a NPC promoter. Dennis won the NPC Border States contest in late 1997, opening the doors to becoming a IFBB pro.

In 1998, Dennis James began his career as a pro after winning the NPC USA Championship, beating Melvin Anthony in a nail biting tie breaking decision.
